NRC-SF is the student research body of Nishtar Medical University, Multan — training undergraduates in research methodology, supporting them from first idea to final manuscript, and giving their work a stage.
A research-focused student event organised by the Nishtar Research Council Students Forum, designed to promote research culture, critical thinking, scientific communication and academic collaboration among medical and allied health sciences students.
Where Research Meets Competition, Creativity & Collaboration.
The Nishtar Research Council – Student Forum exists to close a gap every Pakistani medical student knows: enormous clinical exposure, and almost no structured route into research. We give undergraduates at Nishtar Medical University the methodology training, mentorship and platform that turn a good clinical question into publishable work.
Every workshop, every mentorship pairing and every conference traces back to one of these.
Research is a skill, not a talent. We teach study design, sampling and protocol writing as a curriculum, in order, with practice — not as a one-off guest lecture.
A student with a good question and no supervisor gets nowhere. We match members with Nishtar faculty who commit to seeing a project through to submission.
Work that is never presented is never tested. Our conference puts undergraduate research in front of a judging panel that asks real questions.
Structured sessions covering study design, sampling, questionnaire development, and protocol writing — the groundwork most undergraduates are never formally taught.
We pair students with Nishtar faculty and senior researchers who supervise a project end to end, from question to submission.
Practical SPSS and statistical reasoning, taught on real datasets rather than slides, so you can analyse your own study with confidence.
How to structure a manuscript, write a defensible discussion, choose a journal, avoid predatory publishers, and survive peer review.
Preparing, designing and delivering research at conferences — including presentation coaching before you face the judging panel.
Regular critical-appraisal sessions and a competitive research quiz that builds the habit of reading papers properly.
Our flagship annual gathering. Oral and poster presentations judged by faculty, a research quiz, keynote sessions, and awards for the strongest undergraduate work of the year.
